We are a non-governmental organization registered in Mali (Hope Association) and in the United States as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Hope Health and Care. Our mission is to reduce maternal and infant deaths in low-resource communities through the use of clean birth kits and improved access to essential maternal health services.
We empower women to attend prenatal care visits and ensure safe delivery by providing clean birth kits. When babies are delivered in clean environments, the survival of both mother and child is greatly improved. With offices in Mali and Atlanta, we work closely with local communities, health providers, and partners to promote safer pregnancies and healthier outcomes for mothers and newborns.
To create a world where every woman, regardless of her location, has the opportunity to give birth in a safe and clean environment, ensuring the health and well-being of both mother and child.
We believe that giving life should not cost a life!
To reduce maternal and infant deaths in low-resource communities by empowering women to access prenatal care, promoting safe delivery practices, and providing clean birth kits to ensure mothers and babies survive and thrive.
We are proud to introduce the Nene Kit, “Néné” meaning “mother” in Peuhl/Fulani, a clean birth kit created to make childbirth safer for women in underserved communities. Each eco-friendly and affordable kit includes all the essentials, from soap and gloves to cord clamps and sterile blades, ensuring a clean delivery. Every item is sterilized and neatly packed in a reusable tote bag that doubles as a diaper bag after birth. Through the Nėnė Kit, we are not only saving lives but also advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3.1 and 3.2 to reduce maternal and newborn deaths.
This kit was designed in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization, to ensure a clean and safe delivery for women, particularly in low-resource settings
In partnership with Fekola SA (B2Gold Corp.), we are supporting a community health program focused on malaria prevention and improved healthcare access. Our role includes implementing a malaria program that also targets employees living in surrounding communities, and assessing the impact of Fekola SA’s health initiatives on access and quality of care.
In partnership with B2Gold Mali, we are leading a prenatal awareness program in the Anaconda and Dandoko areas to improve maternal and infant health outcomes. The initiative promotes antenatal care visits, reduces home deliveries, and addresses harmful misconceptions through culturally adapted education sessions. Traditional nurses and community members, including men, are engaged as change agents. To encourage attendance, women who complete four prenatal visits receive HOPE’s Clean Birth Kits.
In partnership with CCM ( Carrieres et Chaux du Mali) , we tackled malaria and maternal health challenges in Karaga. The project improved prenatal care attendance and encouraged early treatment for children with fevers, reducing preventable deaths.
In Partnership with AMPDP (Association Malienne pour le Development Rural) This project promoted hygiene at home and safe childbirth practices in Dabia. Through community sessions, home visits, and training for birth attendants, families adopted better hygiene, vaccination rates rose, and maternal deaths and malaria cases declined.
Every Ramadan, HOPE Association runs OSAR (Opération de Soutien Alimentaire pour le Ramadan) to support vulnerable families, including pregnant women, widows, and orphans. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we provide essential food items such as rice, millet, macaroni, milk, and oil to more than 400 families across Mali each year!
Hope Association is proud to have donated a public water borehole in Bankoni community. What makes this initiative even more inspiring is the way the residents have taken full ownership. They came together to create a community savings account where each household contributes regularly. These funds are now used to maintain the borehole and will also support the construction of a second one. This spirit of unity and responsibility is a true example of community-driven development, and we are honored to be part of it.
Hope Association regularly organizes community games in vulnerable neighborhoods, where every child who participated went home a winner with school supplies. Beyond the fun and laughter, the goal of these games is to strengthen community ties while ensuring that children have the materials they need to succeed in school. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to prepare many children for the new school year, turning play into opportunity and hope.
At HOPE Association, we believe change happens through collaboration. Registered in Mali and the U.S. as a 501(c)(3), we work to reduce maternal and infant deaths in low-resource communities.
